Retailers x Fintech

While many retailers have long offered credit cards, a growing number are providing simpler services, often partnering with a financial technology company (“fintech”) to make the shift. This helps retailers build a much more integrated relationship with their customers and a deeper personalized connection because of the analytics available with these streamlined and data rich platforms.

Shopping Center Trends

  • #DidYouKnow: Millennials are at the top of the list of homebuyers in the US, even when home prices increased 20% since last year.
  •  Before the outbreak of COVID-19, malls were mostly tenanted by apparel brands. As they recover from the effects of the pandemic, landlords need to rethink their strategy and broaden their offering with brands that provide experiences and not just sell products.
  • #FunFact: Driven by evolution, improvements and low investments, Quick Service Restaurants are and will continue to be a preferred choice over casual dining spaces.
  • #EmergingTrendOrNot?: The lockdown has seen a surge in cannabis consumption and adoption with landlords considering this catrgory of retailers in their mall.
  • #ProTip: Mall managers need to find ways to appeal to shoppers by taking a progressive mindset that employs a combination of outside of the box initiatives and the use of updated, new age technology like VR for personalization.
